Here in most parts of the Lehigh Valley, you can only see 50-200 stars in the sky and the view of our Milky Way galaxy’s galactic center is only faintly visible if you can see it at all. 80% of the US population can no longer see the Milky Way due to light pollution across the US.

The Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area is an amazing place to see massive numbers of migrating snow geese and tundra swans. Located at 100 Museum Rd in Kleinfeltersville, PA, the area sees peak numbers of migrating birds in late winter and early spring. On Feb. 8, 2018, park officials counted roughly 50,000 snow geese. This place is a fantastic photo opportunity!

Ricketts Glen is a Pennsylvania State Park on 13,050 acres in Luzerne, Columbia and Sullivan Counties. It's home to 500 year old old-growth trees and over 20 waterfalls. It is such a spectacular place that it was originally considered to be developed into a National Park, but because of World War II it didn't receive the necessary funding for improvements and infrastructure to support National Park status.

About a half hour north of Allentown, Walnutport Canal Park is a tiny gem of a photo location. With flat, well-maintained trails and ample parking, it’s well worth making the trip for a casual photo walk.

Did you know that Pennsylvania is home to the largest free-roaming elk herd in the northeastern United States? About 4 hours drive from Allentown, the herd primarily roams in Elk, Cameron, and Clinton Counties in the Pennsylvania Wilds .

The Conowingo Hydroelectric Station on the Susquehanna River is the site of a hydroelectric generation plant that has areas open to the public. As a result of the dam stunning fish as it operates, migrating bald eagles congregate here for an easy meal. They're often found numbering several dozen to even a hundred or more! You can sometimes have eagles as little as 50 feet from you and they fish from early morning well into the afternoon.

Join Dan’s Co-Owner Mike and his family for a day trip to Grounds for Sculpture. Mike found this to be a great venue for creative photos, but since it was raining on his visit he’s been looking forward to returning. Mike’s wife, Melissa, is an Art Teacher and finds the grounds very enjoyable and inspiring. Their daughter Mallory will also be along with her camera and her art bag to capture her own images.
